Ryan and Clarky had special guests from the Edinburgh Horror Club joining them this week to discuss the first horror screening of the new season- the low budget, found footage, exorcism extravaganza that is The Devil Inside. Critically destroyed by some reviewers and booed by American audiences it has still raked in over $50 million, not a bad return for it's $1 million budget. Does it deserve it's bad rap, or is it a genuine horror break out that is being unjustly vilified, click here to find out our views. (Be warned the four of us were around 2 mics this week which has resulted in the levels being slightly off, sorry. So if the volume suddenly ramps up, don't worry too much!).

In movie news this week we discuss the online viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises that is starting to gear up again (totally dismissing our previous claims to not get caught up in the hype!). We revisit last weeks podcast and discuss the fact that John Carter looks set to be the biggest flop of all time, somewhat unjustly in our mind. Finally, we discuss the new trailer for Prometheus, which you can view below.

Finally, in keeping with our review this week, @EdHorrorClub debate the top 5 religious horrors of all time. Will Clarky bring a leftfield choice to the table to try and provoke a reaction - almost certainly!

Clarky is back from his travels and rejoins Ryan in the studio to discuss Disney's new offering - John Carter (trailer below). Directed by Andrew Stanton (WALL-E, Finding Nemo) this $250 million CGI extravaganza stars a relative unknown in Taylor Kitsch. With this in mind, the top 5 this week is the top 5 breakthrough performances. There are obviously a lot of contenders here and some possibly contentious issues! Let the debate begin!!!

In movie news this week a Brave, a film also from the Disney and Pixar stable, has announced that its European Premiere will close out the EIFF in June. The Silent House trailer (below) and Bill and Ted 3 (unbelievable!) are also discussed.

Clarky may be away on his holidays, but Ally from Edinburgh Horror Club has stepped up to the plate to take his place.

Our main review this week is Rampart, the cop corruption drama set in 90s LA starring Woody Harrelllson.

After a week off (apologies, that wasn't planned!) we're back with the second podcast of the new season.

Today's main review focuses on Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, which is in the running for the Best Picture Oscar in a few weeks time. It's the last of the main contenders Ryan and Clarky had to see, so expectations were high!

We also discuss some of the movie news from the past seven days, including news of Kick Ass 2 going into production later this year.

Finally, we round it off by running down the top 5 films of a true Hollywood A-lister, Mr Tom Hanks. Legend.

We're back!!!!

We've had a great Christmas break and caught up with a lot of the awards contenders and winners over the past few weeks, so this week we review the main categories at the Oscars and provide our bets for what will win, let you know what we think should win and discuss those films and artists that were criminally overlooked!

The film review this week is the "superhero" flick Chronicle, but we also look a some of the other films over the past week including: Carnage, Man on a Ledge, Martha Marcy May Marlene and The Grey.

Finally, in movie news this week we look at the new Amazing Spiderman review (below), look at the Blade Runner prequel and discuss the breaking news that Machete is getting a sequel, the brilliantly monikered - Machete Kills!

Ryan and Clarky are back in the studio reviewing The Thing. The prequel / remake of the amazing 1980's classic- John Carpenter's The Thing. It's been a busy few weeks, and year, and Ryan is nearing the record of 127 films at the cinema in one year. It looks like the record will be broken this week and who knows what his final tally will be! Things only look to get busier with our final podcast of the year fast approaching with "The Guysies". In movie news this week there are a lot of new films that have been commissioned this week and we run down our initial reaction to them.

Finally, in honour of John Carpenter's The Thing, we discuss the Top 5 Movie Aliens. It's fair to say that the monstrosities from Indiana Jones and the Stupid Gopher and Nuclear Fridge did not make the cut. However, with so many to choose from we have almost certainly missed out someones favourite, so let us know if we have made a grave error!

One things for sure, you need to check out these musical numbers of two of our choices that add a little bit of light heartedness to proceedings.

Ryan and Clarky were back in the studio this week and throwing the first pitch is Brad Pitt's new film (he stars and produces) Moneyball. Directed by Bennet Miller, who previously directed Capote, it follows the Oakland A's and their General Manager, the incredibly monikered Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), as they try to match the Major Leagues big hitters who spend in excess of $120 million dollars each year on their players salary, compared to the A's meagre $40 million!

Rounding second base they then discuss this weeks movie news including the live action AKIRA and the new Bond movie Skyfall.

Snowtown is a harrowing drama set in Adelaide in 1999. The story revolves around 16 year old Jamie and his relationship with John Bunting, Australia's most notorious serial killer.

This week Ryan and Clarky have a rant about the underwhelming Columbiana, discuss the tragic news that Point Break is being remade and debate over what are Luc Besson's top 5 films are. They also butcher the French pronunciation of Besson, although their crimes against accents are nothing compared to the atrocities committed in Columbiana.

Also on the agenda was Marty Mcfly's footwear as Nike launch their limited edition Back to the Future shoe. Check out the ad (with plenty of references to the films) here.
